This is a recreation I've been wanting to do without anyone requesting it. I have never found an image/scan of the actual original art by Jack Kirby and Chic Stone...maybe it doesn't exist anymore.
JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY #112 cover recreation inked over printed bluelines on 11 x 17 Bristol board. I printed the lettering in black and touched it up. Used the best image I could find as a guide and looked at a Xerox of the color cover while I inked it.

You've done a really good job on this image (as usual). You do seem to bring out the best in Chic Stone's inking. Your lines in this picture are excellent - both very fluent and very precise.
I want to read that fight. It was reprinted in (I think) the 1969 Fantastic Annual. Fantastic was a British comic which carried good quality black and white reprints of Thor and the X-Men. The annuals also added wash tones to those reprints, sometimes in rather curious colours. I'm sure this fight is in one of the annuals. I'd love to read it, just to see how Kirby handles the fight scenes (angles/compositions/position of figures, etc)...^^
