I finished this recreation recently and am extremely proud of it!! Jim Steranko drew the artwork for the HULK ANNUAL (or HULK SPECIAL) #1 in 1968. It is one of their most iconic cover images. I remember it blew my socks off back when I bought it. Marvel had Marie Severin re-draw Hulk's head. For my recreation I based it on the original Steranko version to a good degree. I always thought his hairdo looked too slick and Steranko/Nick Fury-like (and not unkempt enough). So on mine I gave him a bit less hair and altered his hairline some. I did want to remain pretty durn faithful to the original. I also created my own 'rock letters' at the bottom to complete the tribute to the HULK ANNUAL cover.
The original version is copyright Marvel Comics and the original unaltered artwork is from the collection of Albert Moy. It is inked mostly over printed bluelines, some things I drew myself...on 11 x 17 Strathmore Bristol board and signed by myself. Would look awesome framed and on a wall!!! Great holiday gift for yourself or the Hulk fan. SOLD
