This is a cover recreation I have done once before. Jack Kirby and Chic Stone are one of my all-time favorite comic art teams. I inked this recreation over bluelines of THE AVENGERS #12 cover art. Some things I tried to stay very faithful to, but mainly wanted to INK it without trying to follow every stroke. This time I 'held' the lettering (printed it in black) and touched it up instead of doing everything by hand.
The underside of the piece of rock where WASP is always bugged me, as I have the feeling someone in the offices altered it after Chic inked it. I think they wanted her to stand out more. How it looked originally I don't know. The rendering just doesn't all look like Chic's normal approach. So, I rendered it a different way.
